Through-Beam

Through Beam Photo Eyes are 2-piece electronic units consisting of a transmitter on the opposite side of the roadway and a receiver mounted near the gate operator. The transmitter can be battery powered in some cases or you may run a wire to the other side of the driveway to provide low voltage power to the emitter. Through beam style photoelectric eyes are more reliable than the retrorefelective style because the photo optic beam is travelling half as far with no need to be bounced off of a reflector.
