Integrated Card Readers / Keypads / Intercoms are used to control access in conjunction with a door controller in either Wiegand or RS-485 formats. These access control devices cannot be used on their own, but must be part of a networked system. Card readers are available in a wide variety of formats including AWID, DK Prox, HID, IDTeck, and Secura Key. Keypads and card readers can be flush, mounted, surface mounted, or mounted in a single gang electric box. There are also combination units that combine an integrated card reader or keypad with a built in intercom door station.
